We’re delighted that we are once again contributing to the Athens Jazz programme – returning this year from 23 to 29 May at Technopolis City of Athens with a focus on Women in Jazz – and it is our great pleasure to present the outstanding British-Bahraini trumpeter, composer and producer Yazz Ahmed.

Through her music, Yazz Ahmed seeks to blur the lines between jazz and electronic sound design, bringing together the sounds of her mixed heritage in what has been described as psychedelic Arabic jazz.

Yazz Ahmed already holds a prominent place in the modern jazz scene. With three albums released to date (Finding My Way Home, La Saboteuse and Polyhymnia), which accurately capture her artistic development and reflect her distinctive quality, Yazz Ahmed stands out at major festivals and in jazz media ratings polls as a distinct creative musician on the contemporary jazz scene in the UK and internationally.
