Following the success of Think Social. Act Business., organised in partnership with EUNIC Greece, and in an attempt to seek new ways to support the development of social enterprises and network-building in Greece, we're delighted to present a new educational initiative in this field.
Without a doubt, great discoveries and pioneering inventions have moved civilisation forward. Nevertheless, smaller scale innovations and ideas often have the same dynamics and, in many cases, an even more significant social impact.
In an attempt to jump-start social entrepreneurship in Greece, we've joined forces with SciCo (Science Communication), a non-governmental organisation focusing on communicating science to the general public using innovative and interactive means, to organise a programme of educational seminars entitled The Impact Series.
The Impact Series aims to give participants the impetus and courage to take social action and to create viable businesses, while at the same time placing emphasis on the social role of science and suggesting solutions to issues relating to health and the environment.
Specialists and successful Greek and international social entrepreneurs will offer practical know-how and social entrepreneurship tools, and will also support and advise participants who are interested in turning their own ideas into services offering solutions to social problems.
The Impact Series will start on 20 September 2013 with an open public event at The Hub Events, and the practical seminars will be held at the Foundation from 21 September to 8 November 2013.
Attendance is free.
