As part of Shakespeare Lives, our global programme of events and activities celebrating the world’s most popular playwright’s work on the 400th anniversary of his death in 2016, we have the pleasure to work with the National Theatre of Northern Greece organising a series of activities and supporting two of this season’s most compelling theatrical productions: Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet on the road. Macbeth

Shakespeare’s masterpiece translated into Greek by Dimitris Dimitriadis in a new production reminiscent of a gothic tale directed by Anastasia Revi, Artistic Director of the award-winning Theatre Lab Company based in London.

Exploring family and other relationships through Shakespeare’s work: Theatrical game as part of the National Theatre of Northern Greece’s Big Day tribute to William Shakespeare

Relationships – especially family relationships – are an important theme in many of Shakespeare’s plays. This workshop explores different kinds of relationships through the work of the great playwright and is designed to help children express themselves creatively and recognise the lasting value of relationships from Shakespeare's time until today.

The workshop will be led by Maria Nomikou, Partnerships and Programmes Manager at the British Council. It is aimed at children aged 9 to 11 and lasts 90 minutes. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
