As part of our EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) activities, we are delighted to join forces with EUNIC Thessaloniki Greece cluster members (Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki, Institut Français de Thessalonique, Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Salonicco and Centro Cultural Hispano-Helleno de Salonica Federico Garcia Lorca) and the Mikros Vorras theatre company in organising an educational programme for students based on Homer’s Odyssey entitled #Odysseia.
Curated by the Mikros Vorras team, the #Odysseia programme is for children with limited opportunities to engage in art, who are selected by three partner schools in Thessaloniki. The programme will take place from September to December 2019 and will include a number of theatrical workshops in which specialists (educators, animators, actors, psychologists, kinesiologists and musicians) will work together with the participating pupils, aiming to develop their expressive abilities, cultivate their social skills and self-empowerment through the art of theatre, creative movement and music, and also through the joy of co-operation and creation.
