The Future Library Unconference is a multicultural and international conference which will place the library and information field at the centre of the Greek and international stage.
This year’s Unconference will host more than 40 speakers and about 400 participants, professionals from the creative industries, culture, the world of books, education, entrepreneurship and technology.
With an exclusive donation made by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, scholarships granted by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Europeana Foundation – and with our support – creative people will travel from all corners of Greece, the Balkans and Europe to the Future Library Unconference to present innovative activities, and to deliver and take part in workshops and interactive speeches, performances and a host of other happenings.
Among them will be distinguished individuals such as members of the award-winning Mecanoo team of architects, representatives from the public library of Aarhus in Denmark, CERN, Europeana, the British initiative Get it Loud in Libraries, the public library of Stockholm and the Helsinki City Libraries, as well as the public libraries of Serbia and Bulgaria, Tirana Art Lab, Google, Vodafone, the Athenian initiative SynAthina and a wide variety of other creative organisations.
